Ricketts Named Second Team All-Region

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN's Jamar Ricketts was selected to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's All-Far West Region second team on Dec. 6.
A 2022 first-team All-Conference selection, Ricketts scored a team-high five goals and led the squad in points (13) and shots (34). The Montclair, N.J. native was ninth in the Big West in goals and shots. He was tied for second on the team in assists (3) with David Diaz. Ricketts ended the regular season 17th in Division I in game-winning goals (3).
Ricketts helped lead CSUN to a 9-6-4 overall record and a 5-3-1 mark in the Big West. The team tied for second in the league and advanced to the conference tournament's semifinals before losing to eventual champion UC Riverside.
Ricketts is the first Matador to be selected All-Far West Region since 2019, when Danny Trejo earned second-team honors for the second time.
