CSUN Tennis Competes at Cal State Fullerton & UC Irvine

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN Women's Tennis team heads back out on the road this week with a pair of Big West Conference duals.
The Matadors (5-3, 1-1 Big West) travel to Cal State Fullerton on Friday for a 1:30 p.m. start. The Titans have won four in a row to improve to 9-3 overall. Cal State Fullerton is 2-1 in Big West action. Juliette Daries is leading the team in singles victories with seven this Spring. Friday's dual is the 48th time that CSUN and Cal State Fullerton are playing, with the Matadors leading the all-time series 31-16.
CSUN travels to UC Irvine on Sunday for an 11 a.m. competition. The Anteaters begin the week with a 4-9 (1-2 Big West) mark before playing a Saturday doubleheader against Idaho and Hope International. Ysabel Gonzalezrico is the team leader in singles wins (14) and doubles wins (11). Sunday marks the 38th time the teams are playing women's tennis, with UCI leading the all-time series 29-8.
The Matadors went 1-1 last week. CSUN dropped a 4-3 decision to Utah State on March 9 before defeating Youngstown State 4-3 on March 10. Sasha Turchak split two singles matches last week and is now a team-best 5-2 on the year. Turchak is 4-4 in doubles with Magdalena Hedrzak . Jolene Coetzee and Ana Isabel Fraile Toboso lead the team in doubles wins as the duo is 5-2.
