CSUN Meets Hawai'i to Begin Big West Tournament Thursday

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—For the second consecutive week, CSUN will face the University of Hawai'i as the teams face one another in the Big West Conference Tournament quarterfinals Thursday. The dual begins at noon. The tournament will be conducted at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.

The Matadors (8-8, 4-5 Big West) are the sixth seed, while the Rainbow Wahine (11-7, 7-2 Big West) is the third seed. The tournament begins Wednesday when No. 8 UC Irvine (8-15, 1-8 Big West) faces No. 9 UC Riverside (3-14, 0-9 Big West), with the winners advancing to the quarterfinals against the top seed, UC Santa Barbara (17-6, 9-0 Big West).

UC Davis (14-7, 5-4 Big West) is the fourth seed and will face Cal State Fullerton, the fifth seed (15-7, 5-4 Big West), with the remaining quarterfinal featuring the second seed, Cal Poly (15-6, 8-1 Big West) playing the seventh seed, Long Beach State (9-10, 4-5 Big West). The semifinals are Friday at noon. The finals are set for Saturday beginning at noon.

Hawai'i defeated CSUN 5-2 last Sunday in Northridge. Ekaterina Repina and Ana Isabel Fraile Toboso registered the wins for the Matadors.
