NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN heads to No. 19 Missouri State Friday night. The match begins at 5 p.m. PDT/7 p.m. PDT and will be streamed on ESPN 3 or the ESPN app.

ABOUT MISSOURI STATE
The Bears defeated UTRGV 2-0 last Saturday at home to improve to 3-0-2 on the year. Friday's action will mark the sixth of an eight-match homestand that will begin Missouri State's season.

The Bears are ranked 19th by the United Soccer Coaches in this week's top 25 poll.

Missouri State goalie Harry Townsend is fourth in Division I in goals against average (0.20). Playing every minute so far in 2022, Townsen is eighth in Division I in save percentage (.929) entering this week's play. Four Missouri State players; Jesus Barea, Aadne Bruseth, Nicolo Mulatero, and Kian Yan have scored two goals this season.

This is the third time that CSUN and the Bears are playing men's soccer with the Matadors leading the all-time series 2-0.

PLAYING A RANKED OPPONENT
Friday will mark the 57th time since the start of the 2005 season that CSUN will be playing a nationally ranked opponent. The Matadors are 21-25-10 in those matches.

THE LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley scored twice in the second half as the Wolverines defeated CSUN 2-0 on Sept. 8 at Matador Soccer Field.
Both teams took two shots in the first half. The lone attempt that went on goal was a Jamar Ricketts shot in the 10th minute that was saved by Jason Smith. Smith turned away a pair of Marley Edwards in the first 11 minutes of the second. Utah Valley mounted an offensive attack in the 63rd minute. Ura Miura's shot was saved by Cooper Wenzel, but the rebound came back out in front to Mark Andros who converted the chance for the opening goal.
A little over four minutes later, Kendi Bellini stole the ball away from a CSUN defender inside the Matador goalie box. He took two dribbles and scored from in front for a 2-0 advantage. CSUN was awarded back-to-back corner kicks in the 71st but were turned away. The final Matador offensive fury came with just under five minutes remaining. Matthieu Mayindu went off the goalpost. His rebound came out to Enrique Pineda. Pineda's shot hit the crossbar and came out to Ricketts. Ricketts' attempt was saved by Smith in front.
