No. 19 Missouri State Defeats CSUN

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.—No. 19 Missouri State defeated CSUN 7-0 in men's soccer action Friday night at Allison South Stadium.
The Bears jumped on top 8:03 into the first half. Missouri State was awarded a corner kick. Lewis Green put away the service into the box for the Bears' lead. Missouri State increased the advantage to 2-0 in the 18th minute when Aadne Bruseth scored from 16 yards out.
CSUN recorded its first shot of the match in the 21st minute when Arturo Reveles capped off a Matador rush with an attempt that was blocked. Jesus Barea made it 3-0 for the Bears in the 27th minute when his long shot was deflected into the CSUN goal.
The Matadors threatened in the 58th minute when Jack Rhead's header went off the goal post and bounced out of bounds. On the ensuing Missouri State possession, the Bears were awarded a free kick 25 yards out. Jack Denton took the set piece, and his shot was saved by Cooper Wenzel. The rebound came back out in front to Nicolo Mulatero who scored for a 4-0 lead.
Berea flicked in an Adrian Barosen pass for his second goal of the match to give the Bears a 5-0 advantage in the 70th minute. Daniel Normann forced a turnover, took three dribbles, and scored at the 74:20 mark. The Bears were awarded a corner kick in the 79th. Missouri State took advantage of the set piece. With the ball deflected in front, Matt Jones secured the possession, took a shot, and scored what proved to be the final goal of the night.

Missouri State outshot CSUN 11-2 in the first half, and 23-5 for the match…The Bears charted all seven corner kicks in the match… Cooper Wenzel made five saves for the Matadors.
