Solorzano Ties Ohio State With 20 Seconds Remaining In 2023 Opener

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Freshman Jorge Solorzano scored his first career goal with 20 seconds remaining in the second half to earn CSUN a 1-1 tie against Ohio State in the Wolstein Classic Thursday night opening match at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
ACCORDING TO HEAD COACH TERRY DAVILA
The teams played a scoreless first half as Cooper Wenzel made two saves on the two Buckeyes' shots on goal in the first half, including one on a bicycle kick attempt by Luciano Pechota.
WENZEL'S FIRST HALF SAVE
Shaun Ryan broke the seal for the Buckeyes in the 67th minute with a header off a Buckeyes' corner kick. Due to a tackle, Martin Palinic was issued a red card in the 82nd minute, putting CSUN down a man for the rest of the match.
Jamar Ricketts was fouled with approximately 30 seconds to go, setting up the set piece and the game-tying tally for the Matadors. It was Solorzano's only shot of the night, as the match ended shortly after.
