NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Head Men's Basketball Coach Andy Newman has announced the signings of Jared Barnett and Jasman Sangha to the Matadors for the 2023-24 season.
"I'm really excited to have Jared and Jasman joining our program here at CSUN," said Newman. "Jared will provide a ton of winning experience to our backcourt. His ability to push the ball in transition and find guys in the open court is going to help us tremendously in our fast paced offense. Jasman's skill-set is going to add a variety of scoring options for us in the post. His ability to score and make plays for others from the block will be a great compliment to our perimeter attack."

Jared Barnett | G | 6-1 | Los Angeles, Calif. | San Diego State
Â
Barnett lettered the past four seasons at San Diego State where he would be part of three conference championship teams. He played 36 total games with the Aztecs over his collegiate career including in three NCAA Tournament games. He played in 10 games this past season as San Diego State would finish as national runners-up. In his San Diego State career, Barnett helped the program win the Mountain West Conference in 2020, 2021 and 2023. An Academic All-Mountain West honoree and San Diego State Scholar-Athlete, Barnett graduated this past spring.
Â
Barnett previously attended nearby Westchester High School where he was a teammate of current Matador Jordan Brinson. In his prep career, Barnett earned second-team all-league honors as a senior by averaging 13 points, six assists and three rebounds per game. He helped lead the Comets to a 24-5 record and a berth in the city sectional finals.
Jasman Sangha | F/C | 6-8 | Brampton, Ontario | Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
Â
Sangha spent the past two seasons at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi where he would graduate in 2023. After missing his first season due to injury, Sangha earned his first Division I experience last season by playing in 14 games and totaling 36 points and 24 rebounds. He missed the team's final 15 games with an injury as Corpus Christi would eventually win the Southland Conference and play in the NCAA Tournament. Prior to Corpus Christi, Sangha was an All-Conference Honorable Mention at Garden City CC in Kansas. Sangha averaged 13.4 points per game on 52.5 percent shooting to go with 6.2 rebounds per game for Garden City in his only season in 2020-21. He also played for Pensacola State College in Florida during the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season.
Â
Prior to college, Sangha was a four-year letterwinner at Louise Arbour Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. He earned MVP and Defensive Player of the Year honors during his prep career and was a two-time all-league honoree.
