
Tanoue Tied for Second, CSUN 13th at Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational

PROVO, Utah - After setting a program record with a first-round 65, CSUN freshman Nicole Tanoue followed up with a 2-under 70 on Monday and is tied for second through 36 holes of the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational at Timpanogos Golf Club.
Tanoue had three birdies, 14 pars, and one bogey in the second round and is currently tied for second at 9-under 135. Tanoue and Leighton Shosted of Grand Canyon are three shots behind Fresno State's Katelyn Lehigh who is the 36-hole leader at 12-under 132.
As a team, the Matadors followed up Sunday's 7-over round of 295 with a 5-over 293 on Monday and are currently 13th in the 19-team field at 588. The Matadors' previous low score for 36 holes in program history was 591 set in 2009. Grand Canyon (559) moved past first-round leaders Fresno State (561) to lead by two shots. The rest of the top-five features Santa Clara (564), Weber State (572) and Idaho (574).

The Matadors will be paired with Tarleton State, Utah Tech and Montana State for the final round which gets underway Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m.

- Following Tanoue, Elle Laur also fired a 2-under 70 on Monday and moved up from 88th into a tie for 51st at 5-over 149. Laur had four birdies, 12 pars, and two bogeys in round two.
- Sophomore Kim Turgut, who was tied for 26th after a round of 72 on Sunday, had 13 pars, three bogeys, and one quadruple bogey in a round of 6-over 78 on Monday. Turgut heads into the final round tied for 57th at six-over 150.
- Gracie Piar also moved up on Monday, carding a 3-over 75. Piar, who had a pair of birdies in round two, followed up Sunday's 7-over 79 and is currently 82nd at 10-over 154.
- Meghan Paracuelles also had a pair birdies on Monday, posting a 7-over 79. Paracuelles is tied for 94th at 15-over 159. Â
