CSUN Baseball Kicks off Season with Annual Preseason Banquet Dinner

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Baseball hosted its second annual Preseason Banquet at the CSUN Orchard Conference Center on Saturday, Jan. 27.
A total of 220 guests were in attendance including alumni, supporters and student-athletes. Dave Zall, a former CSUN Baseball alum and a member of the 1970 Division II National Championship team, served as master of ceremonies at the event.
Guest speakers at the banquet included Tim Mead, a former Vice President of Communications with the Los Angeles Angels and president of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Also speaking at the event was Tim Leveque, current St. Louis Cardinals minor league pitching coordinator, and Mario Soto, sports psychologist to CSUN Baseball and a full-time consultant to elite sports athletes.
Guests in attendance were shown renderings of the upcoming baseball renovations scheduled for Matador Field. In addition, live auctions were held as guests had the opportunity to bid on many items including CSUN Baseball hats, t-shirts, gear and baseball memorabilia. The night would conclude with a preseason video hyping the 2024 season.

CSUN Baseball officially kicks off the 2024 season on Friday, Feb. 16 against Utah Valley at Matador Field. The Matadors are coming off their most successful season in 21 years in 2023 as CSUN went 34-17 overall in head baseball coach Eddie Cornejo's first season at the helm.
