CSUN Finishes Third at Tri-Match in Ojai

FINAL RESULTS

OJAI, Calif. - Nicole Tanoue and Gracie Piar tied for eighth to lead the CSUN women's golf team in the spring season-opening tri-match against Long Beach State and Cal State Bakersfield on Wednesday at Soule Park Golf Course.

In the team scoring, the Beach carded a team score of even-par 288 to top the Roadrunners (+15) 303 and the Matadors (+24) 312.

Tanoue and Piar each finished the single round at four-over 76 to finish in the top half of the 20-player field. Each had a pair of birdies in Wednesday's singe round of play. Long Beach State's Andee Avery took individual medalist honors with a round of 3-under 69.

CSUN SCORES

Also in team scoring, sophomore Kim Turgut finished tied for ninth at five-over 77. Turgut posted a team-high three birdies on Wednesday.
Freshman Ellie Shirley tied for 15th at 11-over 83.
Fellow freshman Meghan Paracuelles tied for 18th at 13-over 85.
Elle Laur competed for the Matadors as an individual and finished tied for 18th at 13-over 85.

CSUN returns to the course in two weeks (Feb. 11-13) as the Matadors travel to Washington, Utah to compete in the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational at Green Spring Golf Club.
