CSUN Finishes Third at Tri-Match in Ojai

FINAL RESULTS
OJAI, Calif. - Nicole Tanoue and Gracie Piar tied for eighth to lead the CSUN women's golf team in the spring season-opening tri-match against Long Beach State and Cal State Bakersfield on Wednesday at Soule Park Golf Course.
In the team scoring, the Beach carded a team score of even-par 288 to top the Roadrunners (+15) 303 and the Matadors (+24) 312.
Tanoue and Piar each finished the single round at four-over 76 to finish in the top half of the 20-player field. Each had a pair of birdies in Wednesday's singe round of play. Long Beach State's Andee Avery took individual medalist honors with a round of 3-under 69.Â

"Our ball striking is as good as ever, but we just need to clean up our putting. It's just the beginning of the season and our entire team walked away with great attitudes!"
CSUNÂ returns to the course in two weeks (Feb. 11-13) as the Matadors travel to Washington, Utah to compete in the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational at Green Spring Golf Club.

- Also in team scoring, sophomore Kim Turgut finished tied for ninth at five-over 77. Turgut posted a team-high three birdies on Wednesday.
- Freshman Ellie Shirley tied for 15th at 11-over 83.
- Fellow freshman Meghan Paracuelles tied for 18th at 13-over 85.Â
- Elle Laur competed for the Matadors as an individual and finished tied for 18th at 13-over 85.
