Paracuelles Leads the Field After Opening Round at Trailblazer Invitational

WAHINGTON, Utah - Freshman Meghan Paracuelles matched her season-low with a 2-under 70 to hold the round one individual lead Sunday at the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational Green Spring Golf Course.
As a team, the Matadors are in second place after carding a team round of 12-over 300. Gonzaga heads into Monday's second round with a four-shot lead over CSUN while Utah Valley (304), Southern Utah (306), and UC Irvine (312) round out the top five in the nine-team field.
Paracuelles, who also carded a 70 at the season-opening Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational, had three birdies, 14 pars, and a single bogey in her opening round. She was 2-under through eight holes after her second of three birdies and would finish her final 10 holes at even-par to close out her round of 70.
CSUNÂ SCORES
CSUNÂ will be paired with Gonzaga and Utah Valley for Monday's second round which is scheduled to tee-off Monday morning at 11 a.m.

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Fellow freshman Nicole Tanoue is also in the top three after round one after posting an even-par 72. Tanoue had four birdies, 10 pars, and four bogeys on the day and opens Monday's second round two shots behind Parcuelles and one shot back of Gonzaga's Chaewon Baek.
- Sophomore Gracie Piar had a team-high five birdies, along with one bogey, two double bogeys, and a pair of triple bogeys in a round of 6-over 78. Piar was also 2-under through eight before finishing 8-over the rest of the round to tie for 18th.
- Sophomore Kim Turgut is tied for 29th after posting 10 pars and eight bogeys in a round of 8-over 80.
- Freshman Ellie Shirley rounded out the CSUN scoring as she is tied for 46th at 16-over 88.
