Fourth Place Finishes for CSUN, Tanoue in Virginia

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The CSUN women's golf team posted its best round of the tournament - by 12 shots - to move into fourth place at the conclusion of William & Mary's Kingsmill Intercollegiate Tuesday at the Kingsmill Resort.
Not only did the Matadors finish fourth as a team, but freshman Nicole Tanoue also finished fourth in the individual competition after a final round 3-over 75. Tanoue also posted consecutive rounds of 75 on Monday to finish the tournament at 9-over 225, her fourth top 10 finish of the season.
As a team, the Matadors followed up rounds of 325-313 on Monday, to finish Tuesday's final round at 301 which moved the team up from fifth to fourth at 939. Boston University (927) moved past day one leaders Penn to take the team title by one shot.Â

The Matadors will have one tournament left in the regular season next week as CSUN travels to Maricopa, Ariz. to compete at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes GC (Apr. 3-4).

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Following Tanoue's fourth place finish, sophomore Gracie Piar also moved into the top five after a final round 1-under 71. Piar, who finished at 14-over 230, matched Tanoue with four top-10 finishes of the season..
- Sophomore Kim Turgut also improved on Tuesday, moving up from 27th into a tie for 15th at 23-over 239. After rounds of 84-80 on Monday, Turgut fired a 2-over 75 in Tuesday's final round,Â
- Meghan Paracuelles finished 32nd at 29-over 245 following rounds of 84-81-80 and Ellie Shirley completed the CSUN lineup, finishing 53rd at 58-over 274 after scores of 92-85-97.Â
