HOW IT HAPPENED
Aside from a 2-0 lead for La Sierra at the start, CSUN did not trail in the ball game, as the Matadors went on an early 9-0 run for a 14-5 lead. Hughes made three from downtown in the first half, including back-to-back treys near the six-minute mark for a 29-11 lead. CSUN continued to spread the wealth offensively as James Evans Jr. scored on a pullup jumper at the 3:38 mark and Loury converted on a floating jumper a minute later to push the lead past 20 points. CSUN held La Sierra to 16 points in the first half while the Matadors closed the period on a 14-3 run with Jai Chisolm scoring in the final seconds for a 43-16 advantage at the break.Â

NOTES OF THE GAME
"I thought we played well together offensively. These are tough games coming out of finals week. It's important for us to share the ball and get it moving. We struggled with that a little bit early but came along. It was fun to watch the guys play."
