NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Head coach Theo Edwards and CSUN Men's Volleyball have announced that three newcomers will join the Matador roster for the 2026 season.
The group of three student-athletes includes Kingston Jerome, Joel Eanes, and Noah Douphner.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be welcoming Kingston, Joel, and Noah to our roster this season," said Edwards. "Each of them not only brings unique talent and skill to the court, but also the kind of character and work ethic that strengthens our program's culture. Beyond being student-athletes, they are outstanding young men, and I'm excited to see the positive impact they'll have both on our team and in the CSUN community."
Jerome comes to CSUN from Shadow Ridge High School in Las Vegas, Nev. He was named Player of the Year, as well as earning Most Valuable Player honors for the Mustangs. Jerome played for coach Kylee Schraft at Shadow Ridge, winning multiple state championships. He also played for the Vegas United Volleyball Club.
"As a 6-6 setter, Kingston adds height, creativity, and energy to the gym," said Edwards. "A product of Shadow Ridge High School in Las Vegas, Kingston's leadership and drive reflect his strong family values and competitive nature. With a passion for building connections on the court, he thrives on setting his teammates up for success."
Eanes is a 6-9 opposite from Kellam High School in Virginia Beach, VA. A two-time first-team All-State honoree, Eanes was also named Player of the Year and helped his Knights team to a Class 6 state title. He was also named All-Tidewater Boys Volleyball Player of the Year in 2025 and is a three-time first-team and a two-time second-team All-Region performer.
"Standing at 6'10, Joel brings a dominant presence to the court as an opposite hitter," said Edwards. "A multi-time All-Region and All-State honoree, he capped off his high school career as the 2024–25 Virginia State Player of the Year. Known for his power at the net with over 900 career kills, his competitive spirit, combined with his dedication to growth, makes him a cornerstone addition to the program!"
A local product from nearby Stevenson Ranch, Douphner is a 6-7 outside hitter from West Ranch High School. The younger brother of current Matador Owen Douphner, he was a first-team All-CIF selection in 2025 for the Wildcats. He also earned the distinction of being named CIF Southern Section Player of the Year in 2024 for coach Brandon Johnson. The Wildcats won the Foothill League championship in both 2022 and 2025. Douphner also played for the US Boys U19 National Team in 2025, finishing 15th at the FIVB World Championship.
"Noah joins CSUN as a steady and hardworking presence, bringing with him the same leadership qualities that have long defined his family," Edwards said. "The younger brother of Matador standout Owen Douphner, Noah carries on that legacy with a team-first mindset and a relentless drive to improve! He adds both depth and passion to the program and is poised to make a strong impact on and off the court!"
