CSUN Men's Volleyball Adds Malakai Tuakoi for 2026-27 Season

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Head coach Theo Edwards and CSUN Men's Volleyball have announced Malakai Tuakoi as the third newcomer to join the Matadors for the 2026-27 season.
A local product from Los Angeles, Tuakoi is a 6-5 setter who prepped at Da Vinci Schools in El Segundo. A starter at setter since his freshman year at WDV, Tuakoi played for both the Wolves' indoor and beach teams.
He helped his indoor team to the CIF-Southern Section Div. 5 championship and earned a third-place finish at the CIF State Div. 3 level. He was also selected on multiple all-tournament teams during his prep career and was a multi-year CIF All-Academic Team honoree.
Tuakai was selected to the USA Volleyball Boys U19 National team that won the Gold Medal at the U19Â NORCECA Continental Championships in 2024.
"One of the top up-and-coming setters from Southern California, Malakai brings a ton of USA pipeline experience to CSUN," said Edwards. "We are excited to get him into the gym!"
CSUN Men's Volleyball was ranked 18th in the final AVCA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Poll of the 2026 season.
