CSUN Welcomes Bugra Bayrak to 2026-27 Men's Volleyball Class

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Head coach Theo Edwards and CSUN Men's Volleyball have announced Bugra Bayrak as the fourth and final newcomer to join the Matadors for the 2026-27 season.
An international student-athlete, Bayrak is a 6-5 outside hitter from Çanakkale, Turkey. He prepped at TVF Sport High School in Ankara, Turkey, which won the Turkish Championship in 2024. While in high school, he also played for the Star Men's Volleyball Club that finished in second place at the Young Men's Super League Turkish Championship in 2023. He also competed in the Ankara Region Young Men's Championship in both 2024 and 2025.
Bayrak also competed for the CEV U17/U18 team at the European Volleyball Championship in 2022, and has two years of professional experience in the Efeler Ligi (Turkish Men's Super League) with the Ziraat Bank Volleyball Team.
"Bugra rounds out our 2027 recruiting class," said Edwards. "He brings a wealth of talent and volleyball experience to our roster. We are incredibly excited to add him to the family! "
CSUN Men's Volleyball was ranked 18th in the final AVCA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Poll of the 2026 season.
