Mira Dravucz Collects Big West Player of the Week Honors

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Water Polo's freshman attacker Mira Dravucz earned her first career Big West Freshman of the Week award on Wednesday.Â
Dravucz erupted for 26 points including 15 goals and 11 assists over a 5-1 week for the Matadors. She would also finish with 60.0 percent shooting from the field while also picking up two steals. In all, Dravucz posted five multi-goal efforts and three performances of three goals or more.Â

She opened the week with an assist against Villanova on Thursday before breaking out for nine points including a perfect 5-of-5 shooting from the field in a 20-11 win over McKendree at the CSUN Mini Invite. Three of her five goals against McKendree came in the first 1:40 of the match.Â
Dravucz continued her scoring ways with a hat trick on the scoring side to go with three assists to help CSUN to a 15-13 win over Iona at the Convergence Tournament on Friday. She concluded that day with a two-goal and two-assist effort in a 21-3 victory against Occidental. On Saturday, she picked up two goals and an assist to help beat Saleum 12-9 before wrapping up the Convergence Tournament with three more goals to win 12-2 over UC Merced.Â
Originally from Budapest, Hungary, Dravucz has totaled a Big West-leading 56 goals to go with 24 assists for 80 points. From the field, Dravucz has also shot an efficient 58.3 percent in the pool over 20 matches.Â
Dravucz is the first Matador to win the Big West Player of the Week award this season and the first since Dorottya Telek on Jan. 22, 2025.Â
CSUN returns to Matador Pool to host UC Santa Barbara in a Big West matchup on Friday at 2:30 p.m.Â
