CSUN Places 15 Student-Athletes on the ACWPC All-Academic Team

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---A total of 15 members of the CSUN Water Polo team were recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom with All-Academic Team honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). CSUN has posted 15 honorees on the annual all-academic team for the fourth consecutive season.

The ACWPC honored a total of 927 student-athletes this season. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must maintain a grade point average above 3.20. The academic awards are divided into three teams based on grade point average as athletes earn Outstanding (4.00-3.71), Superior (3.70-3.41) and Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition.

Ten Matadors received Outstanding honors: Ashley Strickland, Erika Staine, Jade Cuevas, Kiana Kellner, Leah Huisar, Lucie Lapuz, Marin Byars, Marjorie Krueger, Mira Dravucz and Sophia Cooper. The trio of Alexis Smith, Claire Summers and Kianna Melvin each earned Superior honors while Dakota Bumbaca and Ella Furuholmen received an Excellent distinction.

CSUN also was named to the All-Academic Team GPA list for holding a 3.52 grade point average as a group.
