Matador Pair Earn All-Big West Accolades

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Water Polo's Mira Dravucz and Erika Staine received All-Big West accolades on Friday, as announced by the league's office. Both Matadors collected an Honorable Mention award while Dravucz was placed on the All-Freshman Team.Â
An attacker from Budapest, Hungary, Dravucz had a sensational freshman season for the Matadors in 2026 as she led the Matadors with 63 goals and 90 points in 26 contests. She would finish the season fourth in goals and sixth in points in the Big West, respectively, while she led all Big West freshmen in goals scored. Dravucz was the top Matador in field goal percentage, making her shots at a 52.1 percent rate. She would also show her ability to distribute the ball, posting 27 assists to finish second on the team.Â
In Big West play, Dravucz scored 10 of her 63 goals while totaling 13 total points. Dravucz would also be named Big West Player of the Week on March 11 after she totaled 15 goals and 11 assists in a six-game week for CSUN.Â
Staine, a 6-0 junior goalkeeper from Whittier, posted a 12-9 record in front of the cage for CSUN. Staine was fifth in the Big West in saves (157) and goals-against-average (10.75). In 21 total matches this season, Staine reached double figures in saves a total of six times, highlighted by 14 stops in a Big West victory over Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 20. In addition to her saves, Staine accumulated 27 steals to rank third-best on the team. On the offensive end, Staine hit the back of the net twice while distributing five assists for seven points on the season.Â
Staine becomes the first Matador goalkeeper to earn All-Big West honors since Kiernan Davis in 2015. Overall, she is just the third Matador 'keeper in school history to earn all-conference honors.Â
