NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Water Polo trio of Mira Dravucz, Sofia Martinez and Erika Staine all earned All-America Honorable Mention accolades on Tuesday, as announced by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). For all three Matadors, the All-American honors are the first in their respective collegiate careers.Â

Dravucz, an attacker from Budapest, Hungary, had a breakout freshman campaign in 2026 as she led the Matadors in scoring. An All-Big West Honorable Mention honoree, Dravucz netted 63 goals and registered 90 points to rank fourth and sixth in the Big West, respectively. Dravucz also topped all Big West freshmen in goals scored on the season as she shot 52.1 percent from the field. She racked up 27 assists as well to rank second-best on the team. Overall, Dravucz scored at least once in 24 of 26 matches while posting 19 total multi-goal efforts along with 10 games of three goals or more.Â
"This is quite the accomplishment as a freshman," said head coach Matt Warshaw. "Mira is a sharpshooter with a keen sense of the game. She made huge strides this year in a different role than she has played in Hungary."
A sophomore utility player, Martinez was second on the team in goals scored, totaling a career-best 45 tallies on the year. The Commerce native also posted new career highs in points (63), assists (18), steals (35) and exclusions drawn (36). Martinez topped the Matadors in steals this season, ranking seventh in the Big West as she averaged 1.4 per game. She played in 25 of 26 matches this season, missing out in the Matadors' Big West first round game. Martinez finished the year with 13 multi-goal efforts and scored at least once in 22 contests.Â
"Sofia is dynamic playmaker, someone we can turn to when when we need a goal in critical moments," said Warshaw. "Proud to see her be recognized with this accolade."
Staine appeared in a career-high 21 matches at goalkeeper this season as she posted a 12-9 overall record in front of the cage. The junior from Whittier was fifth in the Big West with a 10.75 goals-against-average along with sixth in total saves with 157. Staine also racked up 27 steals while also picking up seven points including two goals and five assists. Overall, Staine wrapped up the year registering six double-digit save performances. Staine, who also earned All-Big West Honorable Mention accolades this season, is the first Matador goalkeeper to be named an All-American since 2010.Â
"It was a coming out year for Erika, stringing together good game after good game," said Warshaw. "She anchors a young defense in front of her and does it with a calm demeanor. Really cool to see her hard work pay off with this prestigious award."Â
The three All-American awards for the Matadors tie the school record for a single season. Previously, CSUN had three honorees in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024.Â
"We were one of the youngest teams in college water polo last season, and with these honors comes higher expectations and we can't wait to return to the pool and compete."
CSUN finished the year with a 17-9 overall record, marking the first time in program history the team has posted four consecutive winning seasons. The Matadors also wrapped up the year with a No. 25 national ranking.Â
