NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---Fresh off shattering CSUN's all-time school record in the discus, senior Summer Mosley earned Big West Field Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday, as announced by the league's office.Â

Originally from Miami, Fla., Mosley posted back-to-back personal records this past week, capped by a historic Matador track & field performance at the 66th Annual Mt. SAC Relays over the weekend.Â
Mosley began her week with an outstanding effort at Long Beach State's Pacific Coast Invitational last Thursday where she took fourth place in the discus with a then PR of 55.77m (183-0).Â
Just two days later, Mosley surpassed that discus mark at the Mt. SAC Relays. Mosley would reach 57.40m (188-4) on her fifth attempt of the event, finishing fourth overall in a 12-athlete field. Her PR throw broke CSUN's school record in the discus, previously held for 28 seasons by Cheree Hicks (188-0).Â
Mosley, who won last season's Big West discus title, currently is tops in the conference with her discus performance this past weekend while mark is ranked ninth overall in the nation.Â
Mosley is the first Matador from the CSUN Women's Track & Field team to collect a Big West Athlete of the Week award since Arianna Alexander in 2022 while she is the first to win the Field Athlete of the Week honor since Sameerah Evans in 2021.Â
CSUN Track & Field returns to competition this week at the UCSB Invite, held from April 24-25 at Pauley Track.Â
