FRISCO, Texas – Senior Kim Turgut and junior Nicole Tanoue represented CSUN Women's Golf as the 2025-26 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was announced on July 13.
In total, 1,586 women's collegiate golfers from around the country were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players.
To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season, have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year, and be nominated through the team's conference championship.
Turgut, a senior from Johannesburg, South Africa, had her best season at CSUN in 2025-26. She received All-Big West honors for the first time in her career. Turgut capped the season with a 3-under 213 at the Big West Championship, the best score for a Matador golfer at a conference championship since Beth Allen finished at 7-under 209 in 2004. Turgut also earned a spot on the All-Tournament team based on her third-place finish, which is the best for CSUN since Brianna Steger finished second in 2019. She finished the season with a career-best 74.03 scoring average, also posting five top-10 individual finishes.
Tanoue, a junior from Honolulu, Hawai'i, also had a solid 2025-26 season, finishing third on the team with a 74.06 scoring average. She captured her first individual title of the season at the Soboba Spring Classic and posted multiple top-20 finishes, including tying for 6th place at the Wolverine Invitational after firing a second-round 4-under 68.
In December 2025, Tanoue teamed up with teammate Meghan Paracuelles to win the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Qualifier at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. The duo shot a 4-under 67 to finish first, earning a spot in the national championship in South Carolina.
The 2025-26 CSUN Women's Golf season produced multiple honorees for the first time since 2013-14, when Clariss Guce earned first-team accolades and Cesilie Hagen was named honorable mention. Turgut and senior Gracie Piar become the 27th and 28th players in program history to earn all-conference honors dating back to 1998.
