OUTDOOR: Finished sixth in the 400m hurdles at the Big West Championship (1:01.65)...advanced to the NCAA West Regional, running 1:01.92 to come in 39th...won the 400m hurdles at the Northridge Invitational Mar. 21 in a career-best :59.73 which is the fifth best in school history...finished third in the 400m at the May 2 CSUN Challenge in a career best :57.45...named Academic All-Conference.
INDOOR: Ran 500m, 600m, and 800m throughout the season...posted a season best in the 600m at the UW Open (1:35.61) Feb. 15...finished 29th in the preliminaries of the 800m at the MPSF Championship Feb. 27 (2:15.40)...named Academic All-MPSF.
2014 (R-JUNIOR)
OUTDOOR: Finished eighth in the heptathlon scoring 4429 points...reached the 400 hurdles final where she wound up sixth in a time of 1:02.82...season best time in the 400m hurdles came at the Bulldog Invitational on Apr. 26 when where she placed first (1:01.48)...posted a career best 17-8 in the long jump when she finished fourth at the Apr. 12 Rainbow Relays...ran a career best in the 200m (:25.83) at the Rainbow Relays…named Academic All-Conference.
INDOOR: Competed once...finished 14th in the pentathlon at the MPSF Indoor Championship after scoring 3212 points...named Academic All-MPSF.
2013 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the year as a redshirt in the CSUN program.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Makdanrinne Sports High in Helsinki, Finland...coaches were Robin Millard and Jussi Heikkila...was named the school's Athlete of the Year in 2009.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Tarja Salmi and Robin Millard...stepmother is Eila Millard and stepfather is Sakari Salmi...has one brother, Daniel and three stepsisters, Nelli, Noora and Niina Toivo...favorites include Olympian Jessica Ennis, Manchester United, actor Leonardo DiCaprio and the music of Ben Howard and Bon Iver...says her greatest sports moment was "running in the European Championship" says the best thing about being an athlete is "when the hard work pays off".
