Kurata made 28 appearances and started 19 times at catcher in his final collegiate season ... totaled 12 runs, 11 hits, seven RBI, seven walks and three homers ... collected his first homer of the season and scored twice in a win over BYU (2/22/25) ... homered and collected two hits vs. Columbia (3/18/25) ... smacked a homer against his former team in a win over Cal State Bakersfield (3/23/25) ... notched his last hit of the season at Long Beach State (4/26/25).Â
PRIOR TO CSUN
Kurata spent three seasons with Cal State Bakersfield from 2022-24 ... named to the All-Big West Second Team as well as Big West Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2023 ... slashed .344/.407/.424 with 95 hits, 41 runs, 32 RBI, 16 doubles and two homers in 77 career games with CSUB ... hit a career-best .369 with 58 hits, 25 runs scored and 21 RBI as a sophomore in 2023 ... attended Gahr High School and graduated in 2021 ... named Academic Athlete of the Year in 2021 ... spent four years on the Gahr baseball team as an infielder and catcher where he won a league title in 2019.
