Juan Plascencia completed his sixth season as the goalkeeper's coach at CSUN in 2007.
Plascencia was a two-year letter winner for the Matadors from 1998-99. He played in 14 matches in goal, starting six times, and amassing a 5-4 record with a 2.32 goals against average. In 1999, Plascencia posted a 1.86 goals against average in nine appearances.
Plascencia prepped at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif. where he was named second-team All-Mission League in both 1995 and 1996. He was named first-team All-League in 1997 and was named All-Area and league goalkeeper MVP in 1998.
Prior to joining the CSUN staff, he coached on the prep level at Viewpoint, Notre Dame, Harvard Westlake, and Louisville High Schools.
