Michael Preis brings numerous years of coaching experience as he joins the Matador staff as a volunteer assistant for his third year. Preis was a four-year letter winner at Northridge after compiling 35 goals, 27 assists and 97 points from 1996-99. He places in the Top 10 of the CSUN career charts in all three categories, ranking sixth in goals, assists and points.

Preis led the team in goals three times ('96, '98, '99) and assists and points in 1996. He also received All-Far West Region plaudits in 1998, All-MPSF honors as a freshman, sophomore and senior and All-Independent team accolades as a junior when the Matadors were an independent. Preis was also a member of the U.S. National U-23 Team, as well as a participant at the 1998 Pan American Games. In 2007, Preis was named to the MPSF 15th Anniversary team. He graduated from Northridge with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 2000.

Following his playing career, Preis went on to coach at Alemany, Chaminade and Millikan High Schools and is currently the coaching director of the Rampage F.C. Along with his coaching duties, Preis is also a successful real estate agent serving the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Conejo Valleys, as well as the Westside (MichaelPreisHomes.com).

Michael and his wife Tait, who was a former high jumper at Northridge, reside in Chatsworth.
