2011 (R-SENIOR): Placed 68th (27:45.8) at the Big West Cross Country Championship...was 17th (30:37) at the UNLV Invitational...ran 27:21.10 at the UC Riverside Invitational to place 185th overall...posted a time of 27:56.80 at the Asics/UC Irvine Invitational for a 111th overall showing...opened the year by finishing 157th at the Asics/Cal State Fullerton Opener (28:56.80).
2010 (R-JUNIOR): Finished 66th (28:35.2) at the Big West Cross Country Championship...finished a season-best 57th at the 8k Northridge Invitational in a time of 27:59.3.
2009 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the CSUN program.
2008 (SOPHOMORE): Did not compete.
2007 (FRESHMAN): Finished 62nd at the Big West Cross Country Championships in a time of 27:36.5.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard, Calif...earned varsity letters in both track and field and cross country...earned second team All-Pacific View League honors in cross country and was named Outstanding Distance Runner Award for the Spartans track team...the track and field team were four-time league champions...graduated with a 3.35 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Elena Villagomez and Kuo-Hsien Ma...has two sisters, Jeanette and Rocio...favorites include John Cena, actors Jackie Chan and Jessica Alba and the TV show “Family Guy”...says his greatest moment in sports was “my 800 meter kick at Spartan Relays.
