2011 (R-JUNIOR): Opened season by finishing 54th at the Asics/Fullerton Invitational (27:00.70)...went 26:43.30 at the Highlander Invitational...was a season best fourth at the UNLV Desert Invitational (27:16)...finished 29th by running 26:11.88 at the Northridge Invitational...ran a season best 26:03.70 at the Big West Championships.
2010 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt at CSUN.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Spent two seasons at Moorpark College...earned first team All-Western State Conference honors in cross country in 2009...the Raiders won won a conference track & field championship in 2009...earned his Associate of Arts degree in 2010.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Hueneme High School...earned All-Pacific View League honors in cross country in 2006...was also a midfielder for the Vikings soccer team...graduated with a 3.66 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Luz Margarita and Encarnacion Lopez...major is mechanical engineering...favorites include the TV show "Two and a Half Men", the movie "When People Are Strange", Italian food and the music of The Doors...says the best thing about being an athlete is "you stay fit" and the toughest thing is "too much work"...couldn't imagine going a week without his shampoo.
