Fidel Espinoza was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in August of 2022 after joining the CSUN Sports Medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in August of 2021. He works primarily with the Matador men's basketball and men’s and women’s track and field programs. Â
Prior to CSUN, Espinoza was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at California Baptist University where he worked primarily with the women's soccer team. In 2019, he completed a four-month internship with the Seattle Sounders U-23 soccer team. With the Sounders, Espinoza oversaw day-to-day practice operations and rehabilitation for the team.Â
Espinoza earned his master's degree in athletic training from California Baptist University in 2020. He worked with teams from the high school level to NCAA Division I while at CBU, gaining hands-on experience in a number of sports including football, baseball, basketball, and soccer.
Espinoza earned his bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from California State University, San Bernardino in 2017. He has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association since 2017 and has been a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer since July 2020. Espinoza is also a member of the California Athletic Trainers Association Governmental Affairs committee. Â

Fidel resides in Northridge with his puppy, Snips. During his free time he enjoys watching soccer and Star Wars!
