One of the most decorated track and field student-athletes in Matador history, Carl Horsley joined the CSUN Track & Field program as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2017 Indoor and Outdoor seasons.Â
Undoubtedly one of the greatest sprinters in CSUN history, Horsley is the only male in Big West Conference history to win both the 100 and 200 meters three times. He is also the Matador record holder in both events.
In outdoor competition, Horsley earned All-American honors in 2013 and won the Big West double (100m and 200m)Â in 2011, 2013 and 2015. He owns the school record in the 100m at 10.22 seconds, which he ran in 2013. That same year, he set the school record in the 200m at 20.73 seconds. He earned both Big West Freshman and Big West Men's Athlete of the Meet during his career.Â
During indoor competition, Horsley placed twice in the 60m dash at the MPSF Championships. He took third in 2013 and eighth in 2011. His personal best for the event was 6.77 seconds.Â
Horsley graduated from CSUN in 2015 with a degree in Kinesiology.Â
