OUTDOOR: Contreras competed in five meets on the year ... placed 21st in the 800m with a time of 2:21.08 at the Big West Championships (5/10/24) ... set a new PR in the 800m with a time of 2:15.85, finishing fourth at the Trojan Invite (3/23/24) ... finished sixth in the 3000m at the Trojan Invite with a time of 10:44.13 ... earned Big West All-Academic Team honors.
INDOOR: Competed in three meets on the season ... helped CSUN finish fifth in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:54.05 at the MPSF Championships (2/25/24) ... that DMR time was the second-best in school history ... recorded the third-best mile run in school history, taking sixth place at the MPSF Championships with a time of 4:56.15 (2/26/24) ... finished 28th in the 3000m with a time of 10:37.53 at the MPSF Championships ... set a new personal record and the ninth-best 3000m time in school history with a time of 10:12.68 at the UW Invite (1/26/24) ... placed on the MPSF All-Academic Team.
CSUN - 2023 (Freshman)
OUTDOOR: Finished eighth in the 1500m at the Big West Championships in a time of 4:41.47 after qualifying with a mark of 4:39.47...set season-best mark in the 1500, 4:34.49 to open the outdoor campaign at the UCSB Invite...her 4:34.49 in the 1500m at the UCSB Invitational was a season best and is the fourth fastest in school history by a CSUN freshman...entered four 1500m races on the year, posting a season-best third both at the Beach Invitational and the UC Riverside Chris Rinne Twilight...ran the 5000m at the UCLA Bob Larsen Distance Carnival, running 17:29.99 to come in ninth...the 17:29.99 is the fourth fastest time by a CSUN freshman in school history....ran the 800m for the only time at the Beach Invitational, going 2:20.22...chosen Academic All-Conference.
INDOOR: Competed in the 3000m, the mile, and the distance medley relay at the MPSF Championships ... the CSUN DMR came in ninth ... posted quickest time of the indoor season at the MPSF's in the mile (5:03.43) to place 13th ... that time is the fourth fastest in school history ... competed in four 3000m events during indoor, charting a season-best 10:23.58 at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Invitational ... ran the 800m at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic (2:25.52) ... named Academic All-MPSF.

Daughter of Efrain and Alicia Contreras … brother Noah is a member of the CSUN cross country and track and field teams … favorites include Katelyn Tuhoy, Hunter x Hunter, Princess Mononoke, Japanese Food, Ikimonogakari, and Joe Hisaishi … chose CSUN to grow as a student and as an athlete, surrounded by people I know … says greatest sports moment so far is racing unattached without a team or a coach for my first year of college, just being my own source of motivation and realizing my own potential … says the best thing about being an athlete is the feeling of accomplishment and the motivation to keep improving … says the toughest thing about being an athlete is maintaining focus on your goals … the best advice she has been given in trust the process … her advice to young people is to start saving money.
