Layla Moore opens her first season at CSUN as a true freshman in 2025.
LONG BEACH POLY HIGH SCHOOL
Moore lettered all four years at Long Beach Poly in Long Beach, Calif. ... was a first-team All-Moore League middle blocker for the Jackrabbits ... also earned a pair of Most Improved Player awards during her career, earning her high school award in 2022 and the Mizuno Long Beach award in 2023-24 ... hit .371 with 141 kills and 70 blocks during her senior season while helping the Jackrabbits to league championships in both 2023 and 2024 ... also played club volleyball for Surfside (16-1's), Mizuno Rockstar (17-1's), and League One Volleyball (18-1's) ... graduated in 2025.

Parents are Tabitha Castellanos and Steven Moore ... favorites include the TV show "Gossip Girls," seafood, and the music of PartyNextDoor and Frank Ocean ... says she chose CSUN because "I love the coaching staff and the culture on the team and can see myself growing in the program" ... says the best thing about being a student-athlete is "all the relationships you gain" ... plans on majoring in kinesiology.
