Will Carter joined CSUN Athletics in May 2019 as the Learfield General Manager for Matador Sports Properties. Since Carter’s arrival, corporate partnerships revenue have increased 63%. In March of 2022, Carter was a key contributor in securing the (Premier America Credit Union) largest campus-wide partnership in CSUN’s history. This partnership includes naming rights of the Premier America Credit Union Arena.
Carter comes to CSUN after spending nearly four years as the Learfield GM at CSU Bakersfield. During his time with Roadrunner Athletics, the sponsorship dollar amount increased by 78% over his nearly four years. He helped cultivate over 75 corporate sponsors in his time in Bakersfield. Will also supervised the respective broadcast talent and worked closely with Learfield operations/productions staff to ensure the highest quality in programming and production.
Prior to that, he spent the better part of 11 years (2004-15) working in various capacities in professional football, including six years in af2 (Arena Football 2 League). Carter was the General Manager of the af2’s Albany Panthers from 2010-15 and has also worked with the South Georgia Wildcats, Macon Knights and Tulsa Talons. He was named SIFL (Southern Indoor Football League) Executive of the Year in 2011 and 2012.
In 2010, OurSportsCentral.com named Carter its top General Manager, and in addition, the website ranked him fourth overall among his counterparts in the four major professional sports leagues in the U.S. and Canada (AFL, SIFL, IFL and NIFL).
A two-sport collegiate athlete in football and baseball, Carter is a 2004 graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Fitness and Sports Management while earning a minor in Business Administration.
