Cal State Northridge Overwhelms Occidental, 16-4

Thousand Oaks, Calif. – Cal State Northridge recorded its largest margin of victory of the season with a 16-4 victory over Occidental on Saturday morning at the Cal Lutheran Invitational.
The contest was never in doubt as the Matadors jumped to a 3-1 first period lead, and advanced the margin to 8-3 at halftime.
CSUN, ranked 15th in the nation, outscored Occidental, 5-0, in the final period to record the 12-point victory.
Seven different CSUN players scored at least one goal. Marisa Young led CSUN with five goals, three in the first period. Kelcie Ferreira added three goals. Jenny Jamison, Molly Henehan and Lindsy Nelson each scored two goals.
