Matadors Seventh Through Two Rounds in Sacramento

NORTHRIDGE, CA - The CSUN women's golf opened the Sacramento State Invitational Monday with rounds of 313-303 which was good for seventh place among 15 teams competing at Sierra View Country Club in Sacramento.
At 616, the Matadors head into Tuesday's final round just five shots out of fourth place. San Francisco (594) has a seven shot lead on the field after two rounds.
Shenna DeLeon is the low CSUN player through 36 holes as she is tied for eighth at seven-over 151. DeLeon, bidding for her first top 10 finish this season, opened with a four-over 76 Monday morning before shaving a stroke off her total in the afternoon round. She heads into the final round six shots off the pace set by USF's Alison Lillie (145).
Cesilie Hagen is looking to break into the top 20 Tuesday as she currently sits in a tie for 24th at 10-over 154. Hagen carded rounds of 78-76 on Monday. Ysabel Tran opened Monday with a round of 80 but bounced back with a second round 77 and is tied for 37th at 13-over 157. Arinda Bhanaraka, in 42nd place at 158, is one shot behind Tran after consecutive posting rounds of 79. Cake Phuchanbanchob rounded out the CSUN squad as the freshman is tied for 55th at 18-over 162 following rounds of 87-75.
Phuchanbanchob's second round 75 matched DeLeon for the Matadors' low round of the day.
CSUN will be paired with Seattle and Montana State for the final round which begins Tuesday at 7:45 a.m.
