"We knew going into the game that our advantage was going to be inside," said CSUN head coach Jason Flowers. "Although we had to remind them a couple of times, I thought we did a good job of getting the ball inside. For the most part, our bigs scored at a high percentage. We still have a lot to work on going forward."
CSUN started sophomore Terrin Sullivan at point guard and she registered a game high seven assists, six points, five rebounds, and two steals. For Nate, it was her basketball action since playing in high school as she spent the past four seasons playing for the CSUN softball team. All-in-all, Flowers was pleased with the progress his team made despite only dressing nine players for the game due to various injuries.
"A lot of people got to see their first action today," Flowers said. "Terrin got to play 32 minutes and is showing progress on getting better. Taylor got a start and did some good things. (Freshman) Juliana (Louis) showed a lot of energy and gave great effort in the first half. (Freshman) Destiny (Brooks) got to play some quality minutes."
CSUN opens the regular season Nov. 10 when the Matadors travel to the University of Oregon in the first round of the preseason Women's NIT.
