NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- Henrik Regitnig was named Goalkeeper of the Year as seven Matador men's soccer players earned All-Big West honors Oct. 31.

A three-time Big West Defensive Player of the Week selection, Regitnig led the Big West in goals against average (1.13). The 6-5 junior was second in the conference in saves (62), second in save percentage (.738), and third in goals against (22). Regitnig is among the national leaders in the Oct. 30 NCAA Division I statistical report. Regitnig is second in Division I in minutes played with 1747:38. He is 45th in total saves, 88th in goals against average, 103rd in save percentage, and 119th in saves per game (3.26). Â He is the second straight Matador and fifth overall to be named the league's top goalie.

Joining Regitnig as a first team All-Conference selection from CSUN were Emmanuel Usen Jr. and Darion Mealing. Usen Jr. finished the regular season tied for second in the Big West (8) with two other players. Usen Jr. is fourth in the league in points (19) and tied for fourth in the Big West in shots (19) with one other player. The Houston, TX native was chosen honorable mention All-Conference a year ago. Usen Jr. was named Big West Offensive Player of the Week Sept. 18. Mealing anchored the Matadors backline and led a CSUN defense that paced the conference in goals average (1.12).

Earning second team All-Conference honors was junior Andrew Rizeq. A midfielder, Rizeq is used primarily on the defensive side of the pitch. Offensively, he took six shots in 18 appearances.

Junior Jumoke Hutton was selected honorable mention All-Conference. Hutton, a defender, recorded three assists in 17 appearances, taking four shots.

Freshman Giovanni Aguilar was selected honorable mention All-Conference and was named to the Big West Conference All-Freshman team. Aguilar is a midfielder who recorded two assists and nine shots this season.
Daniel Trejo was also named to the All-Freshman team. Trejo completed his inaugural season in a CSUN uniform with seven goals, tying him with one other player for the sixth most in the Big West. His 16 points are the eighth most in the league.

CSUN, the 2016 Big West Tournament champions, looks to repeat as the Matadors host Sacramento State in the first round of the tournament Wednesday night at 7 p.m. At 9-8-2 (4-4-2 Big West), the Matadors tied for the South Division title with Cal State Fullerton and are the No. 2 seed out of the South. Sacramento State went 8-8-2, 4-4-2 in Big West play to finish third in the North Division. Christian Webb and Justin Bedig finished the regular season tied for 11th in the Big West with 13 points. Bedig's seven assists were the third most in the conference during the regular season. Webb's six goals tied for the eighth most in the conference with Cal Poly's Adam Olsen.

James Del Curto played all but 21 minutes in goal for the Hornets this season. At 8-8-2, he made 57 saves, the fourth most in the Big West this season. The Hornets defeated the Matadors 1-0 Sept. 28 in Sacramento. CSUN leads the all-time series 13-7-1.
The winner of Wednesday's match will travel to UC Davis on Saturday. The Aggies (10-7-2, 7-2-1 Big West) are the North Division winners. Saturday's match is set for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
