CSUN returns from taking finals to host a pair of games to begin next week.

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN returns from taking finals to host a pair of games to begin next week. The Matadors host Northern Arizona on Monday, Dec. 18. Tip is set for 7 p.m. Monday's game promotion is Merry at the Matadome.

Northern Arizona is 3-6 after losing 72-54 to Grand Canyon on Dec. 14. NAU travels to Youngstown State on Dec. 16 before heading to Northridge.

Olivia Lucero, the Lumberjacks' leading scorer (17.6), was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week Dec. 12. She averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in a pair of games during a 1-1 week. She also leads NAU in assists (39) and steals (14).Â

Kenna McDavis is averaging a double-double of 15.5 points and 10.1 rebounds. Kaleigh Paplow is averaging 13.6 points per game as well. This is the 26th time that CSUN and NAU are playing women's basketball. The Lumberjacks lead the all-time series 15-10. CSUN defeated NAU 83-79 last season in Flagstaff.

CSUN welcomes Omaha to Northridge on Wednesday, Dec. 20 for a 2 p.m. start. Wednesday's game is Winter Camp Day in the Matadome.

Much like CSUN, Omaha is coming off finals as the Mavericks travel to California. Omaha will be at future CSUN Big West opponent, CSU Bakersfield, on Dec. 18 before heading down the interstate to Northridge.

The Mavericks had a seven-game winning streak halted at Creighton on Dec. 10 when Creighton defeated Omaha 72-51. Omaha is 7-3 prior to their game at CSUB. The Mavericks feature a balanced offense that has four players scoring in double figures. Jess Walter (14.2) leads the team in scoring followed by Amber Vidal (12.5), Ellie Brecht (12.5), and Claire Killian (10.2).

Brecht began the week of Dec. 11, 17th in Division I in made three-pointers (32). Vidal is 40th in Division in assists (51) to begin the week of Dec. 11. This is the first time CSUN and Omaha are playing women's basketball.

Both games this week will be streamed by the CSUN Sports Network presented by Dignity Health. Eric Kaback is scheduled to be on the call. This week's games begin a stretch of six in a row that will also be available on BigWest.tv. Links for media and tickets can be found on GoMatadors.com.

Junior Channon Fluker earned several honors last week. She was named Madness National Mid-Major Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Madness Big West Conference Player of the Week, and was chosen Big West Conference Player of the Week by members of the league Dec. 11.Â

Fluker averaged 25.5 points and 14.5 rebounds in leading the Matadors to a pair of victories for the week ending Dec. 10. The 6-4 center scored 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in CSUN's 76-59 victory over San José State Dec. 7. Against Loyola Marymount on Dec. 9, Fluker scored 26 points and tallied 13 rebounds. Her 26-point performance against the Lions moved her to 10th in school history in career points (1,147). Fluker shot 63.3% from the field (19-of-30) during the week. She blocked a career high eight shots against LMU and added a career high three steals against the Lions.
