NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- The CSUN women's tennis team (6-7) Â fell 4-0 to Harvard on Wednesday, Mar. 15 and 4-1 to Marquette on Thursday, Mar. 16 in a pair of non-conference matches. Battling injuries, the Matadors put together some solid performances in the losses to the Crimson and Golden Eagles.Â
"We have shown a lot of fight over the past two days. Against Marquette, we came back to win the second set in five of the six matches after losing the first on all of them. I am very proud of the effort we showed," said CSUN head coach Gary Victor.Â
The Matadors and Crimson met at Knollwood Country Club in Monticeto, Calif. for a neutral-site contest Wednesday. Harvard won the first two doubles matches to finish and then posted victories in the first, second and fifth draws to wrap-up the victory. Elisaveta Nosenko, Emma Roenholt and Kristen Poei had each won a set in their respective singles contests when the match was stopped.Â
Thursday against Marquette, Mickey Hsu scored a 3-6, 6-4 and 7-5 victory in the top singles draw. She is now 4-2 on the season.
