2018 U.S. Olympic Men's Bobsled Team Release
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Former CSUN men's track & field student-athlete Nic Taylor has been named a replacement athlete for the 2018 U.S. Olympic Men's Bobsled Team which will compete in PyeongChang, South Korea for the upcoming Olympic Winter Games.
Taylor and Jimmy Reed have been selected as replacement athletes and will travel to PyeongChang. Reed and Taylor can substitute for competing athletes during training runs, and are eligible to compete in the event of an injury or illness. If a replacement is needed, the selection committee will reevaluate the teams before making a nomination.
Taylor was a two-year letterwinner for the Matador men's track and field team in 2009 and 2010 after transferring from the City College of San Francisco. He reached the final of the 200 meters at the 2010 Big West Outdoor Championships where he ultimately finished sixth. He also qualified for the 100 meters and ran the anchor leg of CSUN's 4x400Â relay team at the conference championship.
Since graduating from CSUN in 2011 with his degree in Psychology, Taylor has coached at UCLA, the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center and Altis, formerly known as the World Athletics Center. He now consults for various National Governing Bodies and organizations in high performance, speed training and strength and conditioning. This past summer, Taylor assisted Dan Pfaff in coaching the first and second place finishers in the men's long jump at the IAAF World Championships.
