CSUN Sends Pair to NCAA Track & Field Championships

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN's throwers Summer Mosley and Kyriaun Davis make their debuts at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships this week at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Davis will compete in the men's discus on Friday while Mosley represents CSUN on Saturday in the women's discus.Â

Both Mosley and Davis qualified for the nationals with strong showings at the NCAA West First Round from May 29-30 in Fayetteville, Ark. Mosley is the first CSUN women's athlete to qualify for nationals since Sydney Mosley in 2019 as well as the first to qualify in the women's discus since Monique Griffiths in 2017. On the men's side, Davis is the first CSUN athlete to compete in the men's discus at the NCAA Championships since Derek Cooper in 2008.Â
Mosley entered the NCAA West First Round as the No. 1 seed in the region as she finished fifth overall in the competition with a mark of 56.52m (185-5). Her fifth-place showing was the best of her career at the west regional.
Earlier this season, Mosley won the women's discus title at the 2026 Big West Championships where she took first place with a new Matador school-record mark of 59.60m (195-6). Overall, Mosley holds the eighth top discus mark in the nation this season. In her two-year CSUN career, Mosley has won two Big West discus titles as well as a hammer throw title in 2025.Â
Davis continued a banner first season with CSUN at the NCAA West First Round where he produced a toss of 57.29m (187-11). He would finish ninth overall in the competition to punch his first ticket to the NCAA Championships.
Davis also collected the Big West men's discus championship this season, establishing a new school-record mark of 58.41m (191-8). His 2026 season is his first collegiate campaign in track & field. He would break CSUN's men's discus record this season, which had stood since 1984. Entering the NCAA Championships, Davis holds the 37th top men's discus mark in the nation this season.Â
