HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUN committed three turnovers on its first four possessions as the Cardinal jumped out to a 6-0 lead. Serafina Maulupe's three-pointer at the 6:57 mark of the first quarter broke the seal for the Matadors.
- Stanford outscored CSUN 13-1 over the final 6:22 of the first quarter. The Cardinal forced eight Matador turnovers and limited the Matadors to 1-of-12 shooting in the opening stanza and would lead 19-4 after one period of play.
- Stanford missed its first two field goal attempts of the second quarter, but the Cardinal would connect on 10 of their next 15 from the floor. Stanford limited the Matadors to three field goals in 14 second quarter attempts as the Cardinal took a 41-12 advantage into halftime.
- After struggling to start the third, CSUN closed the frame on an 8-0 run to cut the Stanford lead to 54-23 after 30 minutes.
- Claudia Ramos opened the fourth quarter by making her second three-pointer of the game and extend the CSUN scoring spurt to 11-0. The Matadors would outscore the Cardinal 20-15 in the fourth.
FOR CSUN
- Meghann Henderson was the top CSUN scorer with seven points.
- Maulupe inched closer to 1,000 career points as she scored five. She will enter Big West action with 985 points in a Matador uniform.
- Juliana Louis charted a team high 10 rebounds for the Matadors.
FOR STANFORD
- Dodson scored a game high 16 points and pulled in five rebounds.
- Alanna Smith scored 14 points. She was 6-of-10 from the field and grabbed five rebounds. Â Hull added 10. Â
- The Matadors held to the Cardinal to 41.1% shooting for the contest (30-of-73). Stanford limited CSUN to 27.1% shooting (16-of-59) for the day.
- The Cardinal outrebounded CSUN 53-35 and forced 15 Matadors' turnovers which resulted in 16 points.

- "We played against a very good, well-coached team who is disciplined on both ends of the floor. Today provided several teaching opportunities that we will be able to use through the rest of the season."
- I thought we did a much better job of competing in the second half. We will use this experience, along with the rest of our non-conference schedule, to be ready for the start of conference, a week from today."

- CSUN opens Big West play next Saturday when the Matadors host UC Santa Barbara (3-9) at 4 p.m. Coverage on the CSUN Sports Network begins at 3:50 p.m. with tip set for 4 p.m. Saturday's contest will be a part of a doubleheader with the CSUN men's basketball program. The Matador men host Yale at 7 p.m.
