HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mustangs (6-6-1, 2-2 Big West) struck in the fourth minute Collin Hyatt headed in a Cal Poly corner kick.
- Wolfgang Prentice had a pair of chances to tie the match. His first, coming off a drive towards the net was kick-saved away by Cal Poly goalie Carlos Arce-Hurtado. With the rebound coming back out, Prentice's second shot was again saved by Arce-Hurtado.
- Arce-Hurtado turned away Daniel Trejo who broke behind the Mustangs' defense in the 38th minute. As a result of the save, CSUN received a corner kick. The ball found Dre Deas who put an attempt that went high of the Cal Poly net.

- Prentice's third attempt of the night was saved by Arce-Hurtado. The rebound came out in front to Maximillian Yanakaev who took a shot that went wide left. An Omar Grey shot was blocked in the 70th minute and recovered by Arce-Hurtado for possession.
- CSUN kept the Mustangs in check until the 73rd minute when Spencer Prey got open inside the 18-yard mark where his shot was blocked by the Matadors' defense. A little under five minutes later Prey again had an attempt blocked by the CSUN defense.
- Arce-Hurtado stopped Kris Fourcand's attempt at 79:48. The final two Matadors' shots came from Johnny Rodriguez who had a shot blocked and an attempt go high in the 89th
