GAME 1
- UC Davis defeated CSUN 4-2 in the first game.
- After a scoreless first four innings, UC Davis broke the seal in the fifth. With two outs, Jillian James walked Marissa Jauregui. Isabella Leon singled up the middle. Alyse Rojas drove in Jauregui with a single to right field, pushing Leon to third.
- Megan Bower, down in the count 0-2 to James, singled to left to drive in Rojas and Leon for a 3-0 score. Marisa Given extended the lead to four with a one-out home run in the bottom of the sixth.
- Megan Stevens led off the CSUN seventh with a single. Jessica Alexander followed with a two-run opposite field home run to right field to cut the Aggies' lead in half. Brooke Yanez would get the next three outs in order to secure the victory for UC Davis.
- Yanez improved to 17-1 on the season by tossing a three-hitter. She retired 11 CSUN batters in a row at one point. Yanez struck out eight and walked one.
- Thanks to a UC Davis player advancing to first in the bottom of the first, James recorded the rare four-strikeout inning. James posted eight strikeouts through the first four innings and ended the game with nine. She gave up six hits and walked one Aggie.
GAME 2
- UC Davis defeated CSUN 1-0 in the nightcap as Katie Kibby limited the Matadors to two hits.
- The game was scoreless through 4.5 innings before Rojas led off the bottom of the fifth with a double. Jauregui successfully sacrificed Rojas to third with a bunt. Pinch-hitter Autumn Miller grounded out to third, keeping Rojas on the base. Leon reached on a CSUN error which allowed Rojas to score, proving to be the game winning run.
- Kibby faced four above the minimum as she walked Megan Stevens with one out in the top of the fourth and gave up a Jaymi Steward hit with one out in the top of the sixth.
- Meghan Bradbury saved the shutout with a diving back hand catch in foul territory off a Haileigh Gonzalez shot to left with two outs in the sixth. With two outs in the top of the seventh Mackenzie Babbitt singled up the middle for the other CSUN hit.
- Kiarra Crockett-Pope was hit by a pitch to move Babbitt to second. Pudi Hernandez pinch-ran for Crockett-Pope as Alyssa Vazquez came to bat. Vazquez flew out to end the game.
- CSUN pitcher Kenedee Jamerson was the tough luck loser as she allowed just three UC Davis hits. Jamerson only faced five above the minimum through six. She struck out two and walked one.
ACCORDING TO HEAD COACH TAIRIA FLOWERS
- "We played two tough games today. Davis has a good pitching staff and they made some great plays when needed. We put ourselves in a position to win and compete. Tomorrow is a new day and time to make adjustments."
