SAN JOSE, Calif.—CSUN went 1-1 on day one of the Silicon Valley Classic II on Friday at San José State.

CSUN continues action in the Silicon Valley Classic II Saturday against Weber State (11:30 a.m.) and San José State (2 p.m.).
GAME 1
- Northern Kentucky scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to defeat CSUN 4-3 to begin the tournament.
- RBI base hits from Megan Stevens and Haileigh Gonzlez in the top of the first gave the Matadors a 2-0 lead.
- A Gonzalez sac fly in the top of third drove in Jessica Alexander for a 3-0 advantage.
- The Norse loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the third, but came away with only one run.
- Zahrya McFarland tied the game with a two-RBI single with one out in the seventh. NKU loaded the bases before Dallas Hoover's sac fly drove in the game winning run.
- Stevens was 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.
GAME 2
- CSUN earned the split on the day with a 3-1 victory over Nevada.
- Stevens opened the scoring with an RBI ground out in the bottom of the fifth that drove in Kira Cauley.
- Nevada tied the score in the top of the fourth on a Dallas Millword RBI single.
- Kiarra Crockett-Pope returned the lead to the Matadors in the bottom of the fourth when she singled in Sarah Duran. CSUN took advantage of a Nevada error later in the fourth to score an unearned run and take a 3-1 lead.
- Jillian James tossed a complete game six-hitter to go to 5-5 on the year. James struck out five and did not walk a batter. The lone Wolfpack run she issued was unearned.
