CSUN held a six-point lead early in the second half before a 13-3 Aggie run turned the tide of the contest. UC Davis led by nine with three minutes to play until the Matadors made one last push. After CSUN cut the deficit to three in the final minute, both Lance Coleman II and Lamine Diane had chances to tie the game from long range but each shot fell short, giving the Aggies the narrow victory.
Junior Terrell Gomez played the full 40 minutes against UC Davis, scoring a game-high 22 points while he made 6-of-12 from 3-point range. Despite an off-shooting night (6-of-15), Diane scored 19 points and added 11 rebounds for his 24th career double-double.
