He then posted one birdie, two bogeys and a double bogey over the last nine holes to finish the day at (+2) 74. His three-round (+8) 224 was his low since posting a (+6) 219 at Fresno State's Nick Watney Invitational in 2019.
As a team, CSUN posted a final round (+19) 307 to finish the tournament with rounds of 313-301-307. At (+57) 921, the Matadors finished just ahead of host UC San Diego (925). Utah State claimed the team title at 893 while Liam Koeneke of San Diego State was the individual medalist (+2) 218. Koeneke defeated Colten Cordingley of Utah State in a three-hole playoff that went par-par-birdie.Â
CSUNÂ SCORES
"This was Tomas' best tournament since his freshman season so I'm hoping his solid play continues in the coming weeks. At some point every team has a stinker performance and this was ours. We'll forget about this tournament, move on and work on some things before UC Santa Barbara's event and hopefully start peaking before conference."
The Matadors next travel to Santa Barbara to compete in the UCSB Intercollegiate (Apr. 12-13) at Sandpiper Golf Club.
