COLLEGE STATION, Texas—Mathieu Tshani competed in the men's triple jump at the NCAA West Preliminary Friday afternoon at Texas A&M.
Tshani fouled on his first attempt. The Lille, France native went 50-11 1/2 on his second try. Tshani put up his best effort on his final attempt as he posted a leap of 51-2 3/4. He would finish seventh among the first 23 competitors who attempted a triple jump. His mark would result in a 24th place overall finish.
"Mathieu competed well today," said CSUN head coach Justin Johnson. "Coach Kinard preaches consistency and that's exactly what Mathieu was able to do all season. Mathieu is an impressive young man that has led our team for the last two seasons. I want to wish him the best of luck as he pursues graduate school and thank him for all he has given to our program."
