CSUN Cross Country Heads to Santa Clara Bronco Invitational

WHATS COMING UP NEXT FOR CSUN
The CSUN men's and women's cross country teams travel to the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Saturday. The men's 8k race begins at 8:45 a.m. while the women's 6k race is set for 9:30 a.m.

Scheduled to compete are California, Cal Poly, Cal Poly Humboldt, CSU Bakersfield, Cal State Monterey Bay, CSUN, Chico State, Dominican, Fresno Pacific, Grand Canyon, Hawai'i, Holy Names, Long Beach State, Menlo, Pacific, Pepperdine, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, Stanford, Stanislaus State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC San Diego, USC, Utah Tech, and William Jessup.

THE LAST TIME OUT
For the first time since the 2012 season, CSUN posted a men's cross country team victory as the Matadors won the Pepperdine Waves Invitational Oct. 1.

CSUN scored 36 points, edging second-place Pepperdine by 35 points. The last team victory for the Matadors occurred on Sept. 15, 2012, when the Matadors won the San Diego State Invitational. Daniel Rodriguez was the top finishing CSUN entry. Rodriguez placed third in a time of 27:04. An unattached runner, Soloman Costa, was the individual winner (26:53.1).

CSUN finished fourth (74) on the 6k course at Pepperdine. Pepperdine (47) took home the team honors.

Nicole Contreras turned in the top CSUN performance for the third consecutive meet. She ran 23:32.5 to place fourth. Cal State Monterey Bay's Lisa Irvine was the individual winner (22:58).Â
