After his outstanding outing versus the Highlanders, Traxel earned his first career Big West Pitcher of the Week award on Monday. Traxel would strike out eight batters in the victory over UCR while walking no batters. He also did not allow a base runner to reach scoring position until the seventh inning and finished the game by retiring the final four batters in a row. His nine-inning shutout was the first by a Matador pitcher since 2019. Traxel also recorded his fifth career complete game.
On the Big West leaderboard, Gabe Gonzalez leads the conference in home runs (9) while he is seventh in RBI (27) and slugging percentage (.571).
